Or too much

No time to say it’s never enough, when
enough being the moment inside,
veering toward the penultimate tide,
exclaiming the end and causing more to hide,
ruthlessly ignoring the fall into the rough.
Equal to the impression of trying again,
needing more, again, without stopping
or having to ask for more, but dropping
unneeded favours as an empty topping.
Handing out the truth that there’s no time to say it’s never enough.
