My brain’s filtration

Negation of one aspect required me to realize there was another, but
only part of my brain was receptive to the idea, so while I pretended to
try, the rest of me began to focus on something else entirely, something
I had forgotten a long time ago, but had waited for my notice at this
convenient moment so that I didn’t have to pay attention to
every message which now created a black hole in my vision.
