The crowd stared at the blank canvas and tried to understand. It hung on the wall of the museum, the place giving it some measure of importance.
One member of the crowd decided it wasn’t worth it and left. Others followed, but the majority continued to stare.
The first one to leave hadn’t thought they’d wasted their time though. What they had taken from the experience, was that they didn’t need to look at a blank canvas in order to inspire their imagination.
They went home to paint.
